T O P I C R E V I E WkyraI recently found out that Rick Wakeman's solo album "Journey to the Center of the Earth" flew onboard STS-99 in 2000.I would presume it was either a vinyl record or a CD flown in the OFK and probably went to a rock type hall of fame or music school. The other possibility was that it was flown in a PPK as a CD brought along by one of the astronauts. OT, but Rick Wakeman wrote a wondeful space concept album "Out There" and dedicated it to the crew of Columbia. Did this ever make cS news or did I miss it ?SCE to AUXPartial lifted from ProgressiveWorld.net through RCWW.com: quote:Out There has been dedicated to the seven astronauts who died during the STS-107 mission, Rick now also declares the fact that for the last eight years he has been working together with NASA. His album 2000 AD Into The Future was flown aboard the 68th flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavour STS-67. In the year 2000 the album Journey To The Centre Of The Earth was sent aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour STS-99. No doubt these shuttles have taken Rick’s music “out there,” waiting for out-of-this-world applause and recognition. For sure the next NASA mission should certainly have a copy of Out There on board. Great to have you back where you belong Rick: right at the very top!Maybe the boys can get together once again for a space themed concept album.... Yesspace?
